II, a year long course, focuses on world and multi-culture literature
in genres including the short story, poetry, Greek and modern drama,
the novel, non-fiction, humor, biographical literature, and legend. Grammar is taught formally and within the context of writing. Vocabulary includes the study of words from the literature units and definitions of other literary devices. Writing instruction stresses the five paragraph analytical essay, creative writing, and narrative writing. The research process and documentation styles are also taught.
